Rooms

Delve into our rooms and feel the warmly atmosphere!

-- Communal Rooms --

We have three communal rooms where residents are welcome to dine, chat, play games, spend quality time with their families, or simply sit and watch TV.

All are tastefully decorated, furnished and are arranged in such a way so residents feel at ease.

Visiting loved ones? No area is out of bounds at Hollow Oak feel free to come at any time, we'll have the kettle on and there's always plenty of cakes in the afternoons!

The large living room, extended in 2009, protudes effortlessly into the main garden giving stunning views all year round.

It offers the perfect area to gather around with friends and family, or chat with other residents.  A wide variety of activities occur every day here, from  a good old sing-a-long to the songs from yester-year we all know and love, to quizes, bowling, painting and more.

With double doors which extend out for easy wheelchair access, we encourage residents to sit out in the gardens in Summer Sun and listen to the wildlife in full flow.

-- Bedrooms --

All fully furnished bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, electric beds, call-bell system, satellite TV, and telephone points.

We welcome residents to make their room their own home-from-home. Our cleaners ensure flowers and plants are fully watered, our handy men are always on hand to help put that favourite picture up on the wall, and if you'd like a cup of tea, just ring the bell!

Whether you find yourself in the characteristic charming rooms in the older part of the building, to the recently built modern rooms, you'll always feel at home.

-- Kitchen and Bathrooms --

The Kitchen - the true heart of the home.

With it's huge original oak table to the magnificent aga; there's no hiding the date of the builiding. ï»¿ï»¿ï»¿ Just as it was 200 years ago, this fully working kitchen, ready to feed 30+ people at any time has of course been slightly adapted, but many original features still exist. Even the original call bell system from the Victoria age has it's place by the door.

Nowadays, the vast majority of meals are cooked in the aga by our three fantastic chefs.  Residents can choose what to have for their breakfast, at what time and where. A full 3 course meal at dinnertime is a rather more formal affair with soups, roasts, bangers n' mash, to bread and butter pudding and the best chocolate sponge pudding in town! Finally, tea-time provides the lighter option, from sandwiches to salads to simple cheese on toast.

All residents choices are fully respected with other meal options provided at all times.  Sometimes we don't fancy tea at tea-time, that's absolutely fine, we'll bring your tea when you are ready!

The Bathrooms.

We have three bathrooms and a shower room. With easy wheelchair access and plenty of room, our bathrooms come fully equipped with all the bathroom aids you'd expect, grab handles, seat lower/raisers, toilet seat raisers and easy taps.
